NCSE's Glenn Branch and Lin Andrews contributed "Climate Change in State Science Standards: A 2020 Snapshot" (subscription required) to the April 2021 issue of In the Trenches, the news magazine of the National Association of Geoscience Teachers.
In their article, Branch and Andrews describe "Making the Grade?" — the report on the treatment of climate change in state science standards produced by NCSE and the Texas Freedom Network Education Fund — in detail.
Expressing optimism about improvements in climate change education, they nevertheless conclude, "Yet there is a long way to go before every state's science standards are adequate to the task of preparing today's students to cope with tomorrow’s warmer world."
