NCSE’s founding executive director Eugenie C. Scott will receive the John and Mary Lou Pojeta Service Award from the Paleontological Society at a banquet during its annual meeting held in Indianapolis on November 4, 2018.
The Pojeta award was established to recognize exceptional professional or public service by individuals or groups in the field of paleontology above and beyond that of existing formal roles or responsibilities.
At the same banquet, Anna K. Behrensmeyer of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History (and a member of NCSE) will receive the Paleontological Society Medal, the most prestigious honor bestowed by the society.
