NCSE bids farewell to Brad Hoge, who joined NCSE as Director of Teacher Support in 2017. Hoge spearheaded NCSE's new initatives to bring professional development and curricular resources focused on socially but not scientifically controversial topics — evolution and climate change in particular — directly to classroom teachers. Especially promising is the NCSE Teacher Ambassador Program, launched in 2018, which recruited master teachers from around the country to meet with content experts and pedagogy experts to develop, test, and disseminate lessons on evolution, climate change, and the nature of science. Hoge also effectively represented NCSE to communities of science educators, speaking to audiences and leading workshops at meetings of the California Science Teachers Association, the National Science Teaching Association, and the American Association of Physics Teachers. All of us at NCSE wish him the best in his new endeavors.
