Happy Fourth of July, everyone! This week on Fossil Friday, I’m bringing you a special request from last week’s winner—a mammal. This genus is found everywhere, except for Antarctica and Australia, but this fossil in particular comes from Nebraska. Go USA!
You might think that these teeth belong to a mastodon or a mammoth—but I already ran those fossils earlier this year. No, this fellow is something quite new to Fossil Friday. What is it? In what time period did it traverse the landscape? How many tusks did it have? (Hint...hint...hint.)
The first person to identify it wins bragging rights for the week!
