Last week’s winner of Fossil Friday, GrizzlyD, requested that we do a pseudofossil this week.
“I work at a museum and have to crush many hopes of ‘dinosaur eggs’ that are just round rocks,” he said.
But why would I give you a pseudofossil, when I have a giant archive of real fossils to work from?
So instead I’m bringing you a trick fossil, of sorts. I won’t say what it is ... but I can tell you that although it looks like an egg, it is certainly not! Found in what is now Colorado, it was definitely dinosaur-related, dating back to the late Jurassic.
What the heck is it? The first person to identify it gets bragging rights for the week!
