Lin Andrews, NCSE's Director of Teacher Support, contributed "Evolution Unsettled in State Science Standards? Not in Kansas Anymore" (PDF, p. 5) to the February 2021 issue of The American Biology Teacher.
In her commentary, Andrews connected her experiences as a public school science teacher in Kansas at a time when the state board of education was attempting to undermine the treatment of evolution in the state science standards with the evidence from the recent NCSE/Penn State survey of high school biology teachers demonstrating that, with regard to evolution, improvements in the standards result in improvements in the classroom.
The whole issue of The American Biology Teacher, devoted, as usual for the February issue, to evolution and Darwin, is freely available on-line. The journal is published by the National Association of Biology Teachers.
