According to a recent Economist/YouGov poll, 55% of Americans agreed with "The world's climate is changing as a result of human activity," while 25% preferred "The world's climate is changing but NOT because of human activity" and 7% preferred "The world's climate is NOT changing": the remaining 13% were not sure.
Women, respondents who thought of themselves as Democrats, respondents who voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 election, respondents who were less than thirty years old, and respondents with postgraduate education were all more likely to agree that the world's climate is changing as a result of human activity.
The poll was conducted online September 10-13, 2022, among 1500 U.S. adult citizens in YouGov's opt-in panel. The survey was weighted by "gender, age, race, and education based on the 2018 American Community Survey ... as well as 2016 and 2020 Presidential votes (or non-votes)." The margin of error for the overall sample is approximately 3%.
