The National Association of Science Writers has awarded Richard Hutton, producer of the NOVA/Clear Blue Skies Evolution series, its Science in Society award in the Television category. Evolution, first broadcast September 24-27, 2001, but rebroadcast in 2002, was honored “for recognizing the impact the science of evolution has had on society for well over 100 years. This captivating series took viewers from jungles to islands to classrooms to highlight the continuing discoveries and political struggles over one of the most basic topics in all of science.” Congratulations to Richard and the rest of the Evolution staff!
